Considering the field of psychic kids and teens is largely all "new territory," authors and mediums are receiving both similar and contrasting information regarding the characteristics of these children. As we stated explicitly on PeeKS Group home page, we do not advocate the use of different names or labels for these children and teens; however, at these early stages of understanding these experiences, these groupings help all of us see the bigger picture.
the CRYSTALS
Though still young, most Crystals are between 7 and 20, these youth truly are "old souls." Their eyes are big and wide ... vast and wise. Their eyes are piercing and penetrating as they scan your aura and energy. They're infused more of the "Buddha energy" so their movement through life is more slow and deliberate. These children are cautious and feel out people, things and situations before jumping in. They observe first, watch other kids' approach, and choose the path for their desired outcome. They are not wasteful of their energy.
One of their missions was to lay the new energetic grid for our planet. They accomplished their goal by being the generation which demanded much attention and care. Living across the planet in all countries, the Crystal Children's most powerful tools were the disease's and medical conditions they agreed to embody. They are the generation which responded to our way of life in drastic ways ... the underlying message was loud and clear: Our ways of living are not working if this is the result! From changing school systems, to a close observation of the effects of vaccines and foods, these kids are showing us what isn't working! It was through these extreme reactions (allergies, autism, and a huge swing toward home schooling) which brought attention and demands changes. Rather than force us to look at our destructive behaviors, they have embodied challenges to help wake us up so we can choose better ways.
These brave souls chose to be a spokesperson for the condition they contracted bringing these rare and even common conditions into the forefront of health care and media, in order to get the proper care necessary. Some children experienced extreme pain, discomfort and previously unheard of ailments, which touched millions of people around the world. These children and teens triggered fundamental emotions in all of us-- through their pain and suffering, we all found compassion, empathy, sorrow, grief, and most importantly hope.
With their loving presence and calm acceptance of all, the Crystals are showing us new ways to behave in a world that requires transformation.
The Rainbows are the newest inhabitants of our Earth and began arriving in the late 2000s. Most are now toddlers so we are just beginning to see their magnificence. The Rainbows are here to help us live in a new Earth, where the Indigos paved the way, the Crystals helped raise the vibration, the Rainbows are to show us how to live a better way!
Rather than embodying the calm demeanor of the serene Crystals, Rainbows are full of energy! It may even be challenging to get them to sit for a meal. They resonate so well with the higher vibration they require much less-- they may eat less, sleep less, weigh less and are filled with joy and vibrancy. They are such light beings, we will also see an end to childhood obesity in this generation. They are acutely aware of their own needs and will eat what they require rather than what they simply want.
Their love is overwhelming and far spread. They see no division among people and easily warm up even the most grouchy adult. The Rainbows are also startling in their empathy. When hearing someone crying, these kids immediately wants to run over to hug or tickle them, anything to alleviate sadness. When I'm upset, McKinna tries to find ways to make me laugh like silly faces or blowing raspberries on my belly. The Rainbows are fond of cuddling and play, requiring both of these nurturing activities as much as they require food. Love energies are their sustenance.
They too have the wise and magnificnet eyes yet rather than observe they are almost glowing with love and enthusiasm. Operating at such a high vibration, the Rainbows are remarkably immune to many of our bad habits. Junk food causes unnoticeable effect as they are able to transmute the toxins. A new enzyme has been found by scientists in the liver that is helping these newest kids flush any damaging toxins.
Among the Rainbows there will be a dramatic decrease in autism and Asperger's as the lessons of the Crystals has been learned. Vaccines and medication while not harmful are still disruptive to the light body and should continue to be administered sparingly.
We will see over time, these Rainbows are immune in many ways. Abuse of children in all forms will almost disappear as they will prove impervious to harm. Those souls who choose to endure childhood hardships will become vocal advocates to eradicate violence on our planet.
They are quick healers and are gifted at self healing. They will enjoy this trick and will be able to provide relief to their families as well. Sunlight can help activate and hasten healing.
Schooling may also be tricky for this generation as they have a clear awareness of their previous lifetimes as fully Spiritual beings. They easily recall past lives and may even remember being in Spirit form. Our daughter, McKinna, talks about her "big home in the sky" and refers to our current home--a 3 bed 3 bath--her "small home." Since they still recall details of their past, they also recall the rote lessons and training too. Sitting down to learn facts you already know is challenging for them and contemporary school systems will have difficulty keeping their attention.
These youth are the Master souls here to usher in a new way of living. Whereas the Crystals communicate with higher level energies like Angels and Spirit Guides, the Rainbows show preference for Earth based energies -- plants, animals and fairies. As the Stewards of the New Earth, they will connect well with these energies as they will work in cooperation to bring about great changes.
The Rainbows have arrived to show us how love can again populate the planet when Spirit is imbued in the everyday. They bring out the best in us and are a reflection of our highest potential as human beings. Keep your eyes open for these mighty youth for they are showing us a new way!
Doreen Virtue is the author of several books on these New Children of the 21st Century, including The Care and Feeding of Indigo Children and The Crystal Children. She has just released a guide to this new generation of highly sensitive young people on a 2-CD set called Indigo, Crystal, and Rainbow Children (Hay House, May 2005). The following information describing Indigos, was taken from Doreen Virtue's website.
The older children (approximately ages 15 through 35), are called "Indigo Children."
They share some characteristics with the Crystal Children. Both generations are highly sensitive and psychic, and have important life purposes. The main difference is their temperament. Indigos have a warrior spirit, because their collective purpose is to mash down old systems that no longer serve us. They are here to quash government, educational and legal systems that lack integrity. To accomplish this end, they need tempers and fiery determination.
Those adults who resist change and who value conformity may misunderstand the Indigos. They are often mislabeled with the psychiatric diagnoses of Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Sadly, when they're medicated, The Indigos often lose their beautiful sensitivity, spiritual gifts and warrior energy. I wrote about the Indigos at length in my book, The Care and Feeding of Indigo Children. I also recommend The Indigo Children and An Indigo Celebration, two other Hay House books written by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober.
In contrast, the Crystal Children are blissful and even-tempered. Sure, they may have tantrums occasionally, but these children are largely forgiving and easy-going. The Crystals are the generation who benefit from the Indigos' trailblazing. First, the Indigo Children lead with a machete, cutting down anything that lacks integrity. Then the Crystal Children follow the cleared path, into a safer and more secure world. And now, the fearless Rainbow Children are pure givers ready to [teach and remind us of our Divinity].
Indigo Children can sense dishonesty, like a dog can sense fear. Indigos know when they're being lied to, patronized, or manipulated. And since their collective purpose is to usher us into a new world of integrity, the Indigos' inner lie detectors are integral. As mentioned before, this warrior spirit is threatening to some adults. And the Indigos are unable to conform to dysfunctional situations at home, work, or school.
Indigos don't have the ability to dissociate from their feelings and pretend everything's okay . . . unless they're medicated or sedated.
Indigo's warrior spirit literally broke down the corrupt systems which didn't work anymore, while the Crystals were sent in to prepare the Earth for the arrival of the Rainbows. Once each mission is complete, they are being asked to shift their energy into that of the younger generation.
Much
has been written of the Indigo Children… both their abundant gifts and their
herculean challenges. These children are now adults and are struggling in
a world that no longer needs their intense driving force.
The
Indigos blazed into our world full steam ahead insisting upon change and
driving with an unmatched zeal to challenge the dictates of society. This
“army” of youth was formidable, glorious and successful in ushering in a new
way. Their soul mission, as a generation, was for the good of mankind: to
eradicate the old systems, to show new ways, and to insist upon change.
They gave their all with unwavering passion.
Because
of their selfless drive, school systems have changed, parenting has changed and
what was once taboo is now being addressed and even embraced. The
The
tides have indeed changed and the driving force which propelled the Indigo’s
single-minded focus has begun to wear down their stamina. Many are withdrawing,
becoming depressed, and some extreme cases are even suicidal as they remain in
a world where their main mission is no longer necessary. What was once a
required energy—to push and challenge—has instead turned inward and begun to
wear heavy upon these resilient and gracious souls.
Their
original intention was to change society, to make the world a more
energetically suitable place for spiritual development to blossom. The
next phase of the Indigos is little known but desperately needed now: to change
their aim and settle into a more Crytsalline energy so their passion can fuel
the New Earth. A change of focus is now required so these glorious souls
don’t self destruct.
The
Crystalline energy present in our youngest of children today is gentle,
loving, wise and serene. Even being in their presence one can feel a sense
of peaceful sacredness. The Indigos challenged the world to create a safe
place for the

completed their mission, the Indigos are left with an excess of energy which
doesn’t have a proper outlet. Anger, rage, frustration and even complete
apathy are frequent. Careful attention to this fact and a re-direction of
focus can be enough to manage the intensity of emotions the Indigos carry.
Many however are without resources to know how to transform.
